ToM4AI Workshop at AAAI 2026

The second Theory of Mind for AI (ToM4AI) workshop at AAAI 2026 continues our mission to unite researchers from cognitive science, artificial intelligence, psychology, and related fields. This workshop aims to advance the integration of Theory of Mind (ToM) into AI systems, exploring both foundational questions and practical applications.

Join us for a day of inspiring talks, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities as we discuss the latest developments and future directions in ToM for AI.

Call for paper:

We welcome submissions that report new results, ongoing research, and broad vision papers in the following topics (not exlusive):

  • Developmental ToM
  • Computational ToM in Biological Cognition
  • Plan and goal recognition
  • ToM in human-robot interactions
  • Epistemic reasoning and planning
  • BDI and adaptive cognitive architectures
  • Multi-agent communication
  • ToM evaluation and benchmarks
  • Applications of ToM

The submission process will be handled through OpenReview, with a provisional submission deadline of November 22, 2025, as per AAAI policy. At this time, there are no plans for documenting the submissions, but an arXiv index might be created if the workshop participants show interest in this option, as happened last year \footnote{\url{https://arxiv.org/abs/2505.03770}}
